augMENTOR Hosts Ethics Seminar to Navigate the EU AI Act

On October 30, 2024, the augMENTOR team organized an Ethics Seminar aimed at supporting its consortium partners and sister projects in understanding the implications of the EU AI Act and its relevance to educational innovation. Led by augMENTOR’s Ethics Manager, Georgia Livieri, the seminar featured a compelling lecture by Alexandros Nousias (NCSR-D), a specialist in AI Law & Ethics. Titled “augMENTORING AI Innovation in Education through the Lenses of the AI Act & Ethics,” the presentation delved into the ethical responsibilities and legal considerations for applying AI in education.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in a dynamic discussion, addressing questions about Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and its alignment with the evolving AI regulatory framework. This exchange marked a significant step forward in ensuring that AI technologies are integrated into educational settings responsibly and ethically. For those who missed the session or wish to revisit the material, the presentation “augMENTORING AI Innovation in Education” is available at the augMENTOR´s webpage, in the resources section. Thank you again to all who participated and contributed to this important conversation!
